How to use Passport & Visa Photo Maker
- Choose the spec: US visa/DV (600×600, ≤240 KB), Korean passport (413×531, ≤500 KB) or a print size.
- Drag the frame so your head sits inside the oval guide, then press Crop.
- Check the Original vs Result card – size, KB and EXIF – and download the JPG.
About this tool
Online photo uploads fail for boring reasons: the file is a few KB too big, the pixel size is off by a few pixels, or a phone saved it as HEIC. This page fixes the file side in one pass. It crops to the exact pixel size of the preset, then searches for the highest JPEG quality that stays under the limit, and the result is redrawn from pixels, so no EXIF or GPS block survives. What it cannot judge for you is the photo itself – lighting, expression, glasses and background are still your job.
Why visa and passport photo uploads get rejected
- Wrong pixel size or shape – The US Diversity Visa entry asks for a square 600×600 JPEG; a 4:3 phone photo is refused before anyone looks at it.
- File over the limit – The same DV form caps the image at 240 kB. Phone photos are usually 2–4 MB.
- Head too small or too big – The State Department wants the head to fill 50–69% of the image height. Use the oval guide to aim for that.
- Eyeglasses and busy backgrounds – New US visa photos must be taken without glasses and against a plain white or off-white background – FilePrivy does not edit either for you.

Frequently asked questions
Does the photo leave my phone or computer?
No. Cropping and compression run in this browser tab; the counter at the top shows how many files were sent – it stays at 0.
Which US forms does the 600×600 preset fit?
It matches the Diversity Visa digital image rule (JPEG, square 600×600, 240 kB or less). Always follow the instructions on the form you are actually using.
Can I still print a 2×2 inch photo?
Yes. Choose 2×2 in (US) under Photo size to get a 600×600 px file at 300 DPI, which prints at exactly 2×2 inches.
Will it tell me if my photo would be rejected for lighting or pose?
No. It checks file format, pixel size, KB and metadata only. Review the expression, shadows and background yourself.
